Introduction to Breastfed Babies

Being a new parent is an experience that can bring a couple to an
overwhelming state of euphoria. While bringing a new baby into this
world can be the cause of feel pride and joy, it is accompanied by
duties and responsibilities. Among the major tasks expected from parents
is to ensure that their child is able to receive proper nutrition. Milk
is a newborn infant’s primary food source. Feeding the infant during the
early stages of life can be done by either bottle-feeding or
breastfeeding.
There are multitudes of advantages that can be obtained
from breastfeeding a baby. Breastfed babies are reported to be
healthier, smarter and stronger as compared to bottle-fed babies. They
are less predisposed to certain illnesses and disabilities of childhood
and are more likely to grow up to be better adults. Breastfeeding also
brings a myriad of benefits to mothers. Mothers of breastfed infants are
spared from the costs of infant formula and are afforded with the
countless health and lifesaving benefits of breastfeeding. Breastfeeding
the infant also facilitates a close relationship between the mother and
the child during the early years of life. It is therefore important for
mothers to know the proper method of breastfeeding the newborn.
